I’m preparing to run Treaty of the Tiger King for my 5e beginner table.
This one shot is a soft farewell to their characters because it is the last one shot before I begin the summer campaign: Phandelver and Below. When we begin the campaign I will be asking that the players build new characters or rebuild their character at level 1. Treaty of the Tiger King is an amazing one shot that I’ve run twice before. GM’s wanting to get high value one shots should invest in adventures from the Arcane Library.
Synopsis
On of my players requested an adventure in town and I’m happy to
oblige. I think my player is wanting time to visit shops and spend
some of the platinum they’ve collected but I’m not sure shopping
time is what everyone wants. So we have an adventure in town and
I’ll make shop item lists available for players to pass around the
table.
- Description
A lone king arrives at the city’s bustling harbor with hopes of
negotiating peace for his people in a distant land. But an
assassination attempt puts his mission in danger and reveals the
king’s hidden enemies. Can the characters protect King Rami and
help him gain the political influence needed to achieve a lasting
peace treaty?
- Respect points
Through out the adventure PCs can earn respect points. Respect
points are then used in negotiation at the end of the adventure.
Be transparent about what will earn/lose respect points.
- Morale mechanics
Some combats can be avoided. In TotTk Arcane Library gives GM’s a
fair way to decide when NPCs are no longer willing to negotiate.
