CyBorg the 4th: session 1 recap
- Making characters is smooth
Players all made characters in the first 20min of the session. One
of the players chose to play a Swashbuckler from Pirate Borg. That
character probably took the most time to put together but was
kinda fun to have a pirate reacting to all the tech around them.
- Fewer Players = More content
I was surprised by how little play time it took to get through
Orvold’s Tower. I run this adventure quite a lot, most recently
for a table of 6. Today we had a table of 3 though and they
absolutely flew through that adventure. Through the tower and
escaped the district and bought a hotel room for the night. Two
PCs leveled up. then as a party they decided to take on a random
job together. So we set up a mission and got a good start on it.
- Bonding the Party
I tried several ways of bonding the PCs.
- All the PCs rolled the same want, for this party they rolled “Burn it all Down!”
- All the PCs rolled a bond to another PC. This was a little
weird with one of the PCs being from a different
universe. I decided that the bonds with the pirate were
experienced through AR for the CY characters and through
vision/dream for the pirate. - The PCs had all been litigated by the same lawyer on behalf
of different entities but the lawyer was paid each time by
the same person. The PCs did not do the things but
successful litigation resulted in the PCs debt.
I think that #3 was the most effective at getting the party to
work together but #2 was the most effective way to keep the party
from hurting each other. I’ll be exploring more ways to bond the
PCs in future games. - All the PCs rolled the same want, for this party they rolled “Burn it all Down!”
